Meredith Reid, Early Childhood Associate
Meredith Reid is a proud product of Texas public schools, and through her professional and academic career has been dedicated to improving education outcomes for young Texans through service and advocacy. Her passion for early childhood education began during college when she worked at the University of Texas Child Development Center. After graduation, she spent two years as an AmeriCorps emergent literacy tutor. Following her service, Meredith worked for five years in Austin ISD as a bilingual pre-kindergarten teacher, campus leader, and district curriculum writer. She also served on the advisory board of an innovative, in-district community-led charter school in Austin.
Prior to joining Commit!, Meredith completed a graduate program where she focused on social welfare and education policy, and she was a research assistant for several education studies. In 2015, she was an Education Data Fellow at the Michigan Department of Education in Lansing.
Meredith received a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Texas at Austin, and an MPP from the University of Michigan’s Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy.
